About the Program

Susan Thrall of Family Court Services kicks off this multi-faceted program with an update about the services provided by Family Court Services

Next, our panelists Judge Harvey Silberman, Gitu Bhatia, Psy.D and attorney Jeffery Jacobson, addressed the many services mental health professionals can provide to augment legal services and enhance the support family law attorneys provide to clients and their clients? families in litigated and non-litigated matters. The panelists shared their observations about heightened tension between counsel, increases in the number of parties presenting with serious mental health issues, concerns about trauma and secondary trauma and suggestions for how to respond to these challenges.

Following the panel, we meet the mental health professionals. They will introduce themselves and describe their practices and special areas of expertise.

After the formal presentation is completed, program attendees and mental health professionals will have a chance to get to know each other in randomly assigned break-out rooms.

All program attendees will receive an electronic Resource Booklet consisting of detailed questionnaires completed by participating mental health professionals.
