Introduction To Pooled Special Needs Trusts And The Newly Formed JLA Trust, The Only Pooled Special Needs Trust In Los Angeles County
The speakers will discuss the use of "pooled" special needs trusts and, specifically, the newly formed not-for-profit JLA Trust, which is the only "pooled" special needs trust in Los Angeles County. A special needs trust protects assets and preserves government benefits and also protects assets for people unable to manage their own finances due to cognitive or other impairments. A "pooled" special needs trust allows families of more modest means to set up a trust for their loved one at lower costs and fees and offers otherwise unavailable benefits planning opportunities for beneficiaries over the age of 65. This program should not be missed by any attorney, fiduciary or other financial advisor for families with loved ones who have special needs.
