The Wide, Wide World of Sports Law
This program will cover a broad range of Sports Law related topics of interest to both sports law professionals and those just seeking a general understanding of recent sports law issues, including, but not limited to, the current status and effect of the O'Bannon v. NCAA case, and related right of likeness and publicity issues. Other topics will include a look at the hurdles and issues involved in recruiting and signing professional athlete clients, from both an agent and athlete's perspective, and current issues between unions and management in professional sports and the recent movement to unionize in collegiate sports, as well as the complexities of branding and marketing athletes, and how professional athletes can establish, protect, and promote their own brand, both during and after their professional playing careers.
