Elder Law Committee of the
Trusts and Estates Section
Presents
The New Era of Age Friendly Technology
Innovations in technology are being implemented like never before. Aging Baby Boomers are embracing technology as enthusiastically as younger cohorts. The New Elder is a unique consumer. Boomers, compared to the generation proceeding them, are more technologically savvy and comfortable with the new innovations. Steven Barlam, MSW, LCSW, CMC, Co-founder of LivHOME will discuss this new " Age Wave". He brings his over thirty years experience working with older adults and their families to this presentation. Steve is respected leader in the Aging Life Care Association (formerly the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers), serving on their board and as President for both the national organization and regional chapter.

Over the last 5 years, Steve has devoted much of the focus of his work on understanding how technology can enhance the aging and care experience. Steve will introduce a range of important age-friendly technology products. He will identify the ten popular products that benefit older adults and their trusted advisors. He will discuss important issues that need to be considered when implementing services, including privacy, confidentiality, and sharing of personal health information. He will share data on how the successful adoption of technology has positively impacted client outcomes.
