This webinar will explore the latest “Hot-Button” issues in real estate and business valuations in the estate and trust context. Panelist Robert E. Dietrich, MAI, CRE, of Kidder Mathews and Philip M. Schwab, ASA of Stout will present and discuss recent court cases and their impact on real estate and business valuations prepared for trust and estate tax purposes as well as older cases and their continued impact on valuation.
Philip M. Schwab has extensive experience in determining discounts for lack of control and lack of marketability for fractional interests in real property and for interests in business entities, which hold real property, marketable securities, and other traditional and non-traditional assets. He is also recognized for his expertise in determining the valuation impact of holding investment assets inside a C corporation, as well as valuing non-voting securities, debt instruments, and other non-traditional business interests.
Robert E. Dietrich is a senior vice president with Kidder Mathews Valuation & Advisory Services, in the Los Angeles office. Mr. Dietrich has performed valuations involving a wide variety of property types ranging from high rise offices to farms and ranches. He has appraised special purpose properties such as port facilities, conservation easements, ski resorts, and others. Areas of specialization include planned developments, subdivisions, leasehold/leased fee analyses, and project modeling. He has appraised all types of commercial, industrial, and multifamily properties for more than 40 years throughout the country.
