About the Program

The MLC is now up and running and has made its first round of payments. Kris Ahrend (CEO of the Mechanical Licensing Collective) will be joined by industry thought leaders Jordan Bromley (partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips) and Vickie Nauman (founder and CEO of CrossBorderWorks Consulting & Advising) to discuss the development of the MLC so far, how it is changing the music industry and marketplace, and how creators can best take advantage, and stay ahead, of these changes.

THE MLC established and maintains a PUBLIC DATABASE of musical works ownership information. Administers a new BLANKET LICENSE covering mechanical rights available to eligible digital audio services operating in the U.S. Receives and MATCHES sound recording usage reporting data from digital audio services with The MLC’s musical works ownership data.
