About/Bio

LAWRENCE H. JACOBSON is a real estate attorney with more than 52 years’ experience. With offices in Beverly Hills, Mr. Jacobson’s practice includes real estate and business matters, including business entity formation and restructure, purchase and sale of business, succession planning, purchase, sale, management and refinance of commercial and residential real estate, and tax free exchanges. He is also a frequent expert witness in civil trials throughout Southern California regarding the interpretation of real estate documents, real estate and mortgage brokers’ standards of care, and legal malpractice related to real estate, business, legal ethics, and fee disputes. Mr. Jacobson is a past President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and a member of the Sales and Brokerage Steering Committee of the Real Estate Section of the California State Bar. He has served as a judge pro tem for the Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Municipal Court Systems, an arbitrator of the Superior Court, and an adjunct professor of law in the area of real estate secured transactions and administrative law. Mr. Jacobson has written and lectured extensively on business, real estate and ethics, including having taught for the U.S.C. Broker Development Program and Graduate Realtors Institute of the California Association of Realtors. He is a contributing author to the CEB publication, California Real Estate Brokers: Law and Litigation (Cal CEB), which received the award for Outstanding Achievement from the Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA). He is a frequent lecturer for CEB, and recipient of the 2011 “Spirit of CEB” award. He has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer every year since 2006. Mr. Jacobson received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles and his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law, where he was Senior Editor of the UCLA Law Review and received the Order of the Coif.
