Guidelines
  1. Beverly Hills Bar Association does not endorse any product or service marked as an advertisement or promoted by a sponsors that appears in this publication.
  2. Ads that mimic or give the appearance of an association with the Beverly Hills Bar Association will not be accepted. Certain ads may be labeled “advertisement” to clarify for readers that the ad is distinct from editorial content.
  3. Advertisements must not be deceptive or misleading and must be verifiable by the advertiser, if requested.
  4. Ads must not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights of any person or entity.
  5. Advertisements must clearly identify the advertiser and the product or service being offered.
  6. Exaggerated or extravagantly worded copy will not be allowed.
  7. Advertisements will not be accepted if they appear to be indecent or offensive in either text or artwork, or represent discrimination of a personal, racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, or religious nature.
  8. Advertising that does not meet minimum standards of clarity or graphic integrity will not be accepted.
  9. Ads that lead to non-functional landing pages, landing pages with unexpected or disruptive user experiences, or landing pages that attempt to automatically download files will not be accepted.
Authors Release

The Beverly Hills Bar Association (“BHBA”) is pleased to consider publication of your submission in The Modern Lawyer (the “ML”), a publication of the BHBA.

License: As a condition of publication and for non-monetary compensation, but for good and valuable consideration, sufficiency of which is acknowledged, you grant to the BHBA the following rights:

  1. A non-exclusive right of second publication of the work;
  2. The non-exclusive worldwide right to reproduce distribute sell and display the work into license or syndicate its use or part of it in any medium or form of communication, now existing or hereafter developed, to others; and
  3. The non-exclusive worldwide right to use the work or any part of it in other publications produced by BHBA.


The grant of rights includes the right to adopt or otherwise use the work, or any portion of it alone or with other materials in all types of electronic digital and computer-based media and technology now existing or to be developed, as well as the storage, retrieval, transmission, display, output and production of the data through any such media and technologies. You also assign the non-exclusive worldwide right to use the work to promote and publicize the BHBA or its publications including the use of your name and likeness and biographical information that are in such promotions.

Warranty: You warrant that

  1. The work is original to you;
  2. It is not subject to an existing copyright and you have authority to grant the rights in this agreement;
  3. Its publication will not libel anyone or infringing or invade the rights of others;
  4. You have a full capacity and power to make this agreement; and
  5. If the work contains any material that requires written permission for each inclusion you agree to obtain written for permission from the copyright proprietor consistent with this agreement.


You reserve all rights not specifically granted above. This document will benefit the BHBA.
