About/Bio

Don Willenburg is a distinguished “appellate luminary” recognized by California Litigation. Formerly heading the Appellate Practice Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco and leading the amicus briefs committee for over a decade at the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, he specializes in winning appeals and writs across diverse cases such as product liability, employment disputes, and construction defects. Notably, he played a key role in persuading the California Supreme Court to revisit improper rulings on jurisdiction over non-California defendants. His contributions also extend to legal education through guest lectures at USC and Pepperdine law schools, as well as service as a Practitioner Advisor for the Appellate Advocacy class at Berkeley in 2021. A prolific author and lecturer, he covers topics ranging from appellate procedure to SLAPP and section 998 settlement offers, showcasing a comprehensive legal expertise.
