About the Program

Over the past two decades, the shift to “managed care” has had different facets. While much of the focus has been on insurer and government program coverage, another critical dimension of this trend has been the rise of larger, more complex healthcare provider organizations, often closely affiliated with health systems and health plans, and independent management entities, using for-profit and nonprofit models. This presentation will focus on unpacking the competing models for larger healthcare organizations and the implications for advocacy for older and disabled patients to whom these providers deliver services. Our speaker, Harry Nelson, is one of the most respected healthcare lawyers in the United States and is regularly sought out by leading healthcare and life-science institutions, as well as innovators, investors, and early-stage ventures, to advise on the most difficult issues in health regulatory strategy and compliance. The program is a must for any attorney, fiduciary or financial advisor who helps families with patients who are older or disabled.
