As an experienced in-house attorney specializing in IP-focused start-up and growth-stage companies, I have spent the last several years building and/or leading legal departments in preparation for their exits. I ran the legal department at Faze Clan as it grew from a 25-person start-up to its IPO. Then at Boardriders, a private equity owned company, I managed legal operations for Quiksilver and DC Shoes and was actively involved in the company’s M&A process resulting in a successful sale of the company in 2023. The experiences of leading and exiting a fast-growing, nimble company in an emerging field and an established, international household name have been different and complementary. One thing that both companies have in common is a strong IP focus, which aligns with my IP background litigating in a big law firm at Quinn Emanuel after graduating from UCLA Law School in 2017.
