Motions, motions, and more motions. In law school, you may have practiced appellate arguments or trial skills, but a litigator’s day-to-day practice often revolves around motions. This program will teach you how to effectively prepare for and argue motions before the trial court. It will cover the importance of balancing a client-focused approach to oral arguments with building credibility with the judge and establishing your reputation as a high-quality litigator.
Silvana Naguib is an experienced litigator who has handled civil and criminal matters in state and federal court. She has practiced in California, Illinois, and the District of Columbia. She has handled a wide variety of cases including property law disputes, civil rights class actions, ADA access lawsuits, constitutional law claims arising out of prisons, jails, and psychiatric institutions, civil commitment and guardianship, and a range of criminal matters. She is an expert “courtroom lawyer” with over a decade of experience in jury trials as well as oral argument in trial and appellate courts.
