The Beverly Hills Bar Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) public charity, supports BHBA’s programs which promote equal access to justice, community service and law-related education through the following projects.
Law School Scholarships to students who are financially challenged, have shown academic achievement and who have committed to public interest law upon graduation.
Rule of Law Writing Competition encourages law students to submit analytical writings on what the rule of law is, or should be, and the interpretation or implementation of existing or suggested legislation or case law and whether or not it furthered the equal and fair regulation of civil and human rights.
Low Bono/Modest Means Legal Service program that matches BHBA attorneys who are willing to cap their fees on a sliding scale with modest means clients who make just a little bit too much to qualify for legal aid but not enough to pay market hourly rates.
Pro Bono Legal Clinic, providing free, basic legal guidance once a month. Open to the community at large.
SAMOSHEL, a monthly program where Barrister/Young Lawyer members of the BHBA shop, cook for and serve the homeless at the Santa Monica Homeless Shelter.
ResolveLawLA, a virtual mandatory settlement conference (MSC) program through the Los Angeles Superior Court. A Court ordered process, matching volunteer settlement officers with parties and their counsel on a virtual platform, reducing the backlog of cases on the court docket and resolving disputes for parties which might otherwise take years to get to trial.
