California's Commercial Property Energy Disclosure Laws

Marika Erdely is the Founder and CEO of Green Econome, a full-service energy consulting and construction company dedicated to sustainability and energy efficiency. With an MBA in Economics from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School and a BA in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara, she brings a strong financial perspective to energy conservation. She is a Certified Energy Auditor, LEED AP BD+C, and an Energy Star Partner, specializing in energy benchmarking, building auditing, and efficiency retrofits. Marika is also the Advocacy Lead for USGBC CA – Los Angeles RLAB 2025 and actively supports compliance with energy disclosure laws such as LA’s EBEWE and California’s AB 802. Passionate about helping building owners save energy and money, she ensures that sustainability initiatives align with financial viability and long-term success.

Laurence Hummer helps with the sale, leasing, and development of commercial and residential real estate and with disputes over real estate, construction, business organizations, contracts, and unfair competition. He has tried cases involving purchase contracts, construction contracts, quiet title to real estate, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, and commercial collections. He has resolved many real estate boundary, easement, and encroachment disputes for businesses and homeowners. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the LACBA’s Real Property Section. Mr. Hummer co-authored and regularly updates Chapter 8, Boundary Easements and Neighboring Property Rights in the treatise California Easements and Boundaries: Law and Litigation, published by Continuing Education of the Bar California.
