The Hon. Esther P. Kim is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California, appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2019.
Before her appointment, Kim served as a deputy attorney general with the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, a role she began in 2006 after working as counsel at the Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles for one year.
Her legal career also includes experience in private practice. She was an associate at the Law Offices of Jason Hsu in 2003, briefly worked in solo practice in 2004, and was an associate at the Law Offices of William C. Behrndt, III. Before joining the Children’s Law Center, Kim was the managing attorney at the Law Offices of Jay C. Hong from 2004 to 2005.
