About/Bio

The Honorable Patricia A. Young is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2021, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Ramona G. See. Prior to her appointment, Judge Young worked at the Federal Public Defender’s Office
for the Central District of California. She started as a deputy federal public fender in 2009, quickly rising through the ranks to become a supervising federal public defender in 2014. After graduating from law school in 2004, Judge Young began her career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Keith P. Ellison of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
