The Proliferation of Short Term Rentals In Southern California: The Legal and Practical Issues When Dealing With Neighbors With A Revolving Door
Short term rentals emanating from online platforms such as Airbnb, VRBO, and HomeAway have become a major issue of contention among the many involved parties. The expert panel will discuss the ins and outs of the legal and practical issues that have arisen in the face of this fast growing industry. The discussion will include recent case law, the impact of local zoning laws, and the mechanisms for enforcement for both homeowner associations and cities. They will also discuss the important role that alternative dispute resolution can play when disputes arise between the various parties. Whether you represent lessors of short term rentals, their neighbors, their homeowner associations, the online platforms that provide them with lessees, the lessees themselves, or local governments, or whether you are yourself involved as a participant, this program will provide you with valuable information about the evolution of this industry and how to avoid or to deal with the assortment of disputes arising from it.
