About the Program

Has AI gotten better or worse at eliminating bias? Algorithmic discrimination occurs when automated systems contribute to unjustified different treatment or impacts disfavoring people based on any classification protected by law. Our esteemed panel updates their BHBA presentation on AI and Bias from 2021 to comment on what has changed and what problems persist. With the explosion of new artificial intelligence technologies in the last few years, we’ll discuss relevant case law, explore the new technologies and their stated algorithms, and examine position statements from government agencies to predict where AI policy is heading. You do not need to have attended the prior panel to attend this panel

Diana is a privacy lawyer, litigator, and serves as outside general counsel to companies ranging from small businesses to large corporations. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and was recently recognized by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP). Through the IAPP, Diana is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/U.S. (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Asia (CIPP/A) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).  She is qualified as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and is a thought leader on Privacy and Data Security matters.  Diana is a frequent speaker on privacy and cybersecurity matters, as well as diversity, inclusion, and elimination of bias.  She conducts training on privacy and cybersecurity matters, and has served as an instructor on civil procedure and summary judgments.  In addition, Diana has mentored countless attorneys in creating the law lifestyle they desire.
