Aaron Moss is a Partner in the Entertainment, Intellectual Property, and Litigation practice groups at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP, where he represents a wide range of content creators and media companies in copyright, trademark, right of publicity, idea submission, and contractual disputes. He has successfully argued significant First Amendment cases in courts across the country, defending media clients against defamation, invasion of privacy, and attempts to restrain speech. A nationally recognized expert in copyright law, Aaron is the publisher and editor of Copyright Lately, a prominent legal blog selected by the U.S. Library of Congress for inclusion in its archive of culturally significant websites. His commentary has been cited by courts, academics, and major media outlets, and he is a frequent speaker for the Copyright Society, the ABA, the Media Law Resource Center, and leading law schools.
In addition to his litigation practice, Aaron advises clients on intellectual property acquisitions and transfers, copyright termination and reversion, and emerging issues involving artificial intelligence. He conducts complex chain-of-title analyses, provides pre-publication review, and offers strategic counseling to film and television studios, video game publishers, digital media platforms, retailers, and consumer product companies.
