About the Program

We’re excited to offer members a rare chance to engage directly with one of the leading voices on AI, copyright, and the legal questions posed by disruptive technologies. The conversation will focus on his recent paper on vibe coding and copyright authorship, including whether fully AI-generated code retains copyright protection.

He will be interviewed by the Chair of BHBA’s AI and the Law Section and the Vice Chair.

Prior to joining the firm, Amanda served as a business and legal affairs executive at a premier talent agency, where she provided global representation to clients across film, television, publishing, digital media, commercial endorsements, audio, theater, and book-to-screen adaptations. Before that, she was an associate at a widely respected private law firm in Los Angeles, where she maintained an active pro bono practice alongside her commercial litigation work. She has also studied opera for over 20 years and performed across the country, most recently for the Prime Minister of Montenegro.

Amanda earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2023, where she was recognized with the Dean’s Scholar Award. She received her B.A. with Honors from Stanford University in 2019.

Professor Edward Lee is a legal scholar at Santa Clara University School of Law. His research focuses on the ways in which the Internet, disruptive technologies, and globalization challenge existing legal paradigms. He teaches copyright law, design law, international intellectual property law, and torts, and has co-authored casebooks in the latter three subjects.
