About the Program

From the perspective of a workplace investigator, the entertainment industry is unique. In this presentation, two experienced attorney investigators will explore the differences in conducting investigations in the entertainment industry and provide practical guidance for both the investigators conducting them and the companies engaging those investigators.

Managing Partner Wagener Law

Matthias Wagener is the founder and managing attorney of Wagener Law. He has been practicing labor and employment law since 1999, and he is a seasoned workplace investigator. He is often engaged to investigate issues involving company executives, celebrities, or other high-profile individuals in the entertainment industry. These matters typically involve the potential for significant financial, legal, or public relations exposure, and they have included numerous sexual harassment and misconduct cases arising out of the #MeToo movement. He is a frequent speaker and presenter, and he has experience testifying as a fact witness regarding his investigations.

Michael A. Robbins is President of EXTTI Incorporated—a company he founded in 1998. Along with the other professionals at the Company, Michael provides Expert Testimony, Training and Investigation services in employment matters. Michael has been involved in well over 600 workplace investigations. He has served as an expert witness in more than 700 employment cases—mostly on workplace investigations issues. Prior to forming EXTTI, he worked as a Labor & Employment Attorney for 20 years. This included four years as in-house counsel in the Entertainment Industry and seven years as a Partner at an Entertainment Law Firm.
