“The Chemistry of Consent: Navigating Drug Involvement in Sexual Assault” is a one-hour course to educate attorneys on substances frequently associated with drug-facilitated sexual assault cases. Dr. Muller provides an overview of such substances, exploring their mechanisms of action, physiological effects, interactions with alcohol, and the difficulties they pose in toxicology analysis. She also discusses the scientific challenges of these cases and the role of the toxicology expert witness.
Dr. Allison Muller is a board-certified toxicologist and a Pennsylvania-registered pharmacist, with over 20 years’ experience at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania in teaching, writing, and clinical practice.
