The New Technology Frontier: Quantum, AI, & National Security

Quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity are reshaping the legal and regulatory landscape faster than most practitioners can track, and this session offers a grounded briefing on where each is heading. The program opens with a look at quantum technology and the approaching reality of cryptographically relevant quantum computers, led by partners and leaders in the quantum industry. The discussion then turns to the latest developments in artificial intelligence and what they mean for the practice of law and for clients in high-technology and regulated sectors. A former White House cyber attorney who served as Acting General Counsel of the Office of the National Cyber Director across both the Biden and Trump administrations joins a colleague, a data protection and emerging technologies practitioner, to close the discussion with the cybersecurity, sanctions, and CFIUS considerations that increasingly shape cross-border transactions and national security review. Attendees will leave with a clearer picture of how these emerging and converging technologies are influencing law, policy, and risk, and what to watch as the government’s posture continues to evolve.
