The New Technology Frontier: Quantum, AI, & National Security

Corey Bieber is a partner at K&L Gates LLP concentrating his practice in data protection and emerging technologies, advising clients on compliance and security matters spanning artificial intelligence, virtual reality, biometric systems, blockchain, and conventional software platforms. Drawing on more than 20 years in software development and IT—including a decade as a developer and solutions architect in healthcare—he counsels universities, game developers, and healthcare systems on data privacy, technology licensing, and software copyright issues, and developed the firm’s litigation analytics platform used in data-intensive class action matters. A Certified Ethical Hacker, CISSP, and CIPP/US, and an Iraq War veteran, Corey also serves as the firm’s AI liaison for the Intellectual Property practice group.

Guillermo Christensen is a partner at K&L Gates and co-chair of the firm’s AI Solutions Group, focusing his practice on national security law, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, export controls, sanctions, and CFIUS reviews of mergers, acquisitions, and investments. Before entering the legal profession, he spent 15 years as a CIA intelligence officer and served as a diplomat with the U.S. Mission to the OECD in France, experience that now informs his counsel to clients navigating enterprise risk, ransomware incidents, and complex cross-border matters, including those involving China, Russia, and the Middle East. An immigrant from Argentina, he has lived and worked across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Guillermo also teaches “AI Skills for Lawyers” as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and trains cybersecurity leaders as an instructor at the FBI’s CISO Academy in Quantico. His work has earned recognition from The Best Lawyers in America®, Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Global Cyber Lawyers, and the Tortora Brayda Institute, which named him a Distinguished Fellow in AI and Cybersecurity in 2025.

Sanjeev Bhasker is a partner at K&L Gates in the Public Policy and Law practice group, bringing over two decades of public-sector experience to counseling clients on artificial intelligence, digital assets and payment processing, cybersecurity, government investigations, and quantum computing. He previously served as Acting General Counsel for the White House’s Office of the National Cyber Director, where he acted as chief legal advisor to the President’s National Cyber Director on cyber and emerging technology policy, including AI, blockchain, and post-quantum cryptography. An experienced litigator and former Assistant US Attorney, he has tried nearly 100 jury and bench trials and led high-profile cyber and national security investigations, including enforcement of OFAC sanctions and IEEPA violations. Sanjeev also brings deep AML/CFT compliance expertise, having co-chaired the US Attorney’s Office’s Bank Secrecy Act team and trained government and law enforcement officials in over 40 countries. He has taken on leadership roles with several professional organizations, including the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the South Asian Bar Association of North America, and serves on the American Bar Association’s Cybersecurity Legal Task Force.
