I partner with family law attorneys throughout California to provide targeted support in cases involving financial, corporate, or executive-level complexities that extend beyond the traditional family law scope. I regularly consult or act as co-counsel in cases requiring deep expertise in (1) corporate and business interests (including public and private company securities, founders’ shares, venture capital and private equity, LLC and partnership interests), (2) executive compensation (deferred or incentive compensation (options, restricted stock, RSUs), profit sharing, periodic and performance-based bonus structures), and (3) corporate transactions affecting marital estates, such as mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs, and the resulting valuation, tracing, and characterization issues.
I spent the first 20 years of my career advising corporations, boards of directors, and executives regarding mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, corporate finance transactions, corporate governance issues both as outside and in-house counsel.
My practice bridges the gap between corporate law and family law by identifying and navigating these complex issues clearly and effectively in litigation, mediation, or settlement contexts.
