“It is an honor and a privilege to step into this role, and I do so with immense gratitude for the people who have helped shape my path. I have been involved with BHBA since starting law school and I am grateful for the opportunity to bring all that experience to bear to help BHBA continue to redefine how a bar association can provide value to its members while developing the next generation of attorneys,” Imam said. Her presidential priorities will include further expanding in-person networking opportunities, focusing on community service, and continuing to expand both membership benefits and sponsorship opportunities. “BHBA has tripled our membership since 2019, largely through revamping our membership benefits including industry-leading continuing legal education. And our in-person networking events sell out and bring together attorneys from throughout the profession. One of my key focuses will be strengthening our Barristers Section, which will provide more opportunities for young and emerging lawyers to connect, learn, and grow within our Association. I also believe that small, intimate social gatherings can complement our larger networking events, fostering deeper relationships and a stronger sense of community among our members,” Imam said.

Dira is a Senior Associate Attorney at Lawrence H. Jacobson, APC in Beverly Hills who handles a variety of transactional matters for businesses and individuals. Her practice focuses on business, corporate, and real estate law, and she has been voted a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2020-2025 and was named to both Super Lawyers’ Up-and-Coming 100: Southern California Rising Stars and their Up-and-Coming 50: 2024 Women Southern California Rising Stars Top List in 2024. Dira began her BHBA participation with Barristers (Young Lawyers’ Section) committees and special projects. She held many BHBA leadership positions including member of the Barristers Board of Governors, the BHBA Board of Governors, the Bar Foundation Scholarship Donor Committee, and the Foundation Board of Directors, culminating in her presidency of the Barristers and then her election to the Association leadership ladder. Dira has been honored with both the BHBA’s Barristers Lawrence J. Blake Award, and the BHBA Board of Governors Award (for the Committee on Empowering Women). Prior to attending law school, she worked in marketing and real estate, and during law school in law office administration.

The Beverly Hills Bar Foundation, the Association’s charitable arm, will swear in the Association’s immediate past president, Alexander Rufus-Isaacs, as President. Rufus-Isaacs began his career as a barrister in England in 1982. He moved to Los Angeles and was admitted to the California bar in 1988. He is a litigator with an emphasis on media, entertainment, and business disputes who co-founded Rufus-Isaacs, Acland & Grantham in 2010. He has been selected as a Super Lawyer for 2017-2024 by Southern California Super Lawyer Magazine, Lawyer of the Year for Copyright in 2023 in LA by Best Lawyers and has been honored as a media litigator by numerous international law and business organizations. Rufus-Isaacs has been active with the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation throughout his tenure in Association leadership and looks forward to helping the Foundation raise funds to support its more than 50-year-old law school scholarships program for students planning to pursue public interest careers.

The Foundation also welcomes new Directors: Vince Farhat of Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP; Tiffiny Walls-Fox of Burke, Williams & Sorenson LLP; Gi Nam Lee of Trustable Law; Ron Reitshtein of Youngman Reitshtein LLP; and Dean Serwin of Serwin Media Group.
