About/Bio

Erica Swensson is Of Counsel at Blank Rome LLP, where she concentrates her practice on complex issues of family law, including inter-state and international jurisdictional disputes under the UCCJEA, UIFSA, and Hague Convention, move-away cases, contentious child custody matters, and the division of intricate financial estates, stock holdings, and family trusts. She also handles novel custody cases implicating constitutional rights, privacy and protective orders, spousal support involving complex income sources, and business valuation disputes. Erica has broad litigation experience spanning discovery, law and motion practice, client counseling, case strategy, and trial preparation, and she holds a certificate in Advocacy and Client Counseling earned through trial competition and coursework during law school. Her results include obtaining a custody turnover after a parent withheld a child, successfully litigating jurisdiction in a multi-state custody case to have it dismissed and transferred to the proper forum, and negotiating settlements in multi-million-dollar dissolution matters. Outside the firm, Erica serves as an on-air legal consultant for Sunrise Australia, competes as an off-shore sailor and rows with the Los Angeles Rowing Club, and has been featured in Pelican Hill Magazine and on KCRW’s “Sounds L.A.” audio project.
