Judge Vedica Puri (Ret.) is a mediator and arbitrator with more than three decades of experience in California civil litigation. She spent her career as a trial lawyer representing both plaintiffs and defendants before Governor Jerry Brown appointed her to the San Francisco Superior Court in 2019. On the bench, she presided over civil trials, mandatory settlement conferences, law and motion, and probate matters, and served on the court’s Civil Settlement Panel. Judge Puri’s practice as a neutral centers on insurance coverage and bad faith disputes, business and contract matters, employment claims, and other complex civil litigation. She brings direct, evaluative mediation style informed by her experience on both sides of the courtroom and her familiarity with how California juries currently assess credibility, damages, and institutional defendants.
