About/Bio

Matthew D. Kanin is Of Counsel to Ruttenberg Cutler Broomer LLP, where his practice includes trust and estate disputes, conservatorships, probate and trust administration, and civil appeals. Matt is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law (by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization). 

Among other professional accomplishments, Matt has served as appointed counsel in over 200 cases for the Superior Courts of Los Angeles and Orange County since 2014. He also serves as a volunteer settlement conference officer for the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, and a fee arbitrator for LACBA ACMAS. Matt serves as a a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Trust & Estates Executive Committee,  and was president of the Woodland Hills Tax & Estate Planning Council from 2024-2026, He has been a volunteer for the Rule of Law Writing Competition for over a decade.

Matt is a 2007 graduate of Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, California, and a 2004 graduate of the George Washington University in Washington D.C., where he majored in International Affairs and Philosophy.
