Matthew M. Yelovich is a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where his practice focuses on government and internal investigations, defending companies and individuals in high-stakes domestic and international enforcement actions. Before joining Cleary, he served as Deputy Chief and Appellate Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California, where he oversaw approximately 100 federal prosecutors. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney for nearly ten years, he prosecuted corporate fraud, healthcare fraud, money laundering, and public corruption matters. He has clerked for the Honorable Reena Raggi of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and has taught at Stanford Law School and UC College of the Law, San Francisco.
