Wendy L. Patrick is a career prosecutor, presented by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court with the California Public Lawyer of the Year award from the State Bar’s Public Law Section, honored as one of the Daily Journal’s Top Professional Responsibility Lawyers for 2025, and named as one of the 2024 Top Professional Responsibility Lawyers by the State Bar of California. She was honored with the 2023 Instructor of the Year Award by the California District Attorneys Association and recognized by her peers as one of the Top Ten criminal attorneys in San Diego by the San Diego Daily Transcript. Dr. Patrick has completed over 170 trials ranging from criminal threats to domestic violence to first-degree murder. Before becoming a prosecutor, she was a trial attorney and team leader in the San Diego Public Defender’s office.
Also holding a Master of Divinity degree and a PhD, she teaches and trains around the world on a variety of legal, ethical, psychological, and motivational topics, and works as a trial and jury consultant, preparing litigants for all aspects of trial
