About the Program

AB 5 marked a sea change in how employees and independent contractors are classified under California law. AB 5’s strict “ABC” test effectively precluded many industries that traditionally relied on independent contractors from utilizing contractors, instead requiring that traditional contractors be classified as employees. Our speakers will dispute and explain the practical impacts on employers and employees and the effect of the recent Proposition 22.
