About the Program

Join us for an overview of key cases, legislation, and copyright office positions in the US and China. The discussion will cover US guild agreements as they relate to AI, introduce key AI companies in both the US and China, and explore the CAA Vault. Our panelists will also examine how AI is reshaping the negotiation and drafting of entertainment deals across these jurisdictions, highlighting key considerations for talent representatives and entertainment lawyers navigating this evolving landscape.

Dr. Seagull Haiyan Song is an international partner at King and Wood Mallesons (KWM) from China, heading the Artificial Intelligence and Tech/Media/Entertainment practice in the firm. Dr. Song is a leading authority in the field of US-China intellectual property law and entertainment law. She has advised and worked with multinational companies, international law firms, policymakers, academics and other industry players in Mainland China, Hong Kong and the United States for nearly three decades.

Liz Randall is Head of Business Operations, Strategic Development at leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Randall is based in the Los Angeles office and is responsible for the execution of enterprise growth initiatives, including theCAAvault, an in-house, talent-focused service that scans, captures, and securely stores Talent’s digital likeness.

Lauren Hansson is an associate in the Entertainment, Technology and Advertising Practice Group in Sheppard Mullin’s Century City office. Lauren’s practice covers all areas of entertainment law, with a primary focus on transactional matters related to film, television and digital media. She counsels studios, production companies, networks, independent producers, media companies and talent on the creation and exploitation of motion pictures, documentaries, television series, podcasts, virtual reality and other digital media and events.

Keith Kelly is an associate in the Entertainment, Technology and Advertising Practice Group in Sheppard Mullin’s Century City office.
