About the Program

With the November 2024 Presidential election quickly approaching, private employers and employees should be mindful of the workplace protections and limitations regarding speech in the workplace, both online and off. This program is designed for attorneys looking to understand the key concerns and best practices regarding political speech and social media use in the workplace. In this program, our panelist will:

– Discuss key protections and limitations under California and Federal law regarding political speech and use of social media in the workplace for both employers and employees
– Explore pitfalls for employees and employers engaging in or grappling with political speech at work
Provide practical suggestions and examples for employers, employees, and their counsel
– Discuss litigation concerns for employers and employees
– Examine pertinent ethical considerations for employer and employee-side attorneys, including in-house counsel
