Geanene M. Yriarte serves as a judge on the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009 and has since been re-elected. Her current term extends until January 8, 2029. In the June 7, 2022, primary election, Yriarte secured re-election unopposed, leading to the cancellation of both the primary and general elections.
Yriarte earned her bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. Before her judicial appointment, she worked as a deputy district attorney for Los Angeles County.
Bryant Y. Yang is a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge, assigned to the Civil Law Division and sitting in Department L of the Pomona Courthouse. He previously presided over a Family Law Homecourt. He serves as the Assistant Supervising Judge of the East District, is Co-Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and previously sat on the Court’s Executive Committee.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, where he prosecuted federal cases involving public corruption, international drug trafficking and cartels, money laundering, and financial crimes. He also served as a senior litigation attorney at Irell & Manella, LLP, specializing in criminal defense and business litigation. He was the Deputy Director of Voter Protection for Organizing for America in Nevada. Judge Yang was a judicial law clerk for U.S. Ninth Circuit Judge Barry G. Silverman and U.S. District Judge S. James Otero. He also served as a Special Prosecutor and Special Counsel for the City Attorneys’ Offices of Burbank and Glendale, respectively. He started his career as an associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP, practicing patent litigation. Judge Yang received his B.A. from U.C. Berkeley, where he graduated with High Distinction and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He obtained his J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law. He is the first Burmese American judge in the United States.
