Monica J. Washington Rothbaum is the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Attorney at J&Y Law Firm. With more than twenty years of experience in legal leadership, corporate governance, and law firm operations, she plays a key role in driving the firm’s strategic growth and operational excellence.
Licensed to practice in Maryland, Florida, Washington, D.C., and New York, Monica has held senior leadership roles in both large law firms and complex national organizations, where she advised on governance, risk, and enterprise-level legal operations. She previously served as Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel at the American Automobile Association, Inc.
Monica began her legal career clerking for Justice David H. Souter of the United States Supreme Court and for Harry T. Edwards of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. She is known for combining rigorous legal judgment with practical business strategy to help organizations scale with integrity and purpose.
