Elder Abuse Restraining Orders are an important tool to protect older and dependent adults from ongoing abuse and prevent future abuse. This presentation will educate advocates about the legal standards and procedure for obtaining an elder abuse restraining order for their clients and will cover recent updates to the law under Assembly Bill 1243.
Dani Kaiserman graduated from UCLA School of Law in May 2015 as a member of the David J. Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. During law school, Dani worked at the Department of Justice-Disability Rights Section, AARP Foundation Litigation, and clerked for the Supervising Probate Judge Maria E. Stratton at Los Angeles Superior Court. She also co-chaired El Centro Legal, a student network of fourteen legal-aid clinics that served low-income community members. Dani received the Masin Family Academic Excellence Award for her academic achievements in her Elder Law course.
