Many Medi-Cal benefits pay for skilled nursing facility care and in-home services. The Assisted Living Waiver, commonly known as the ALW, is among the few select government programs, however, that instead help a consumer pay for an assisted living facility, as well as assisted living services in subsidized housing units.
