The Bankruptcy Jurisprudence of Justice William O'Douglas

William O. Douglas sat on the U.S. Supreme Court for 36 years, longer than any other Justice in history. Early in his career he had strong interest in bankruptcy law. Before his appointment to the Supreme Court, he directed a study for the Securities and Exchange Commission on corporate reorganizations. Justice Douglas brought to the Supreme Court a greater knowledge of bankruptcy law and practice than any Justice who had preceded or any who has followed him.
