About the Program

Custody and visitation disputes often trigger heightened emotion, reactive conduct, and bad faith tactics. This program offers practical guidance on how attorneys can maintain professionalism while addressing incivility in and out of court. Panelists Philip J. Monahan (Meyer, Olson, Lowy & Meyers), Greg Girvan (FMBK), and Amanda K. Beall (Garelick Family Law, PC) will explore effective uses of communication tools like OFW and Talking Parents, how and when to request minor’s counsel or custody evaluations, and whether to consider private judges or bifurcated trials. The program also examines how attorneys can counsel clients appropriately, use court interventions strategically, and respond to unprofessional behavior without escalating conflict.
