The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) takes effect January 1, 2024. Despite the name it has broad implications for trusts & estates practice. The CTA is meant to pull back the curtain and shine a spotlight on client assets. The reporting obligations are significant and in some cases extend to their professional advisors. This session will identify who the CTA applies to, what must be done and when to comply, and considerations and suggestions for estate planners in advance of the effective date.
He focuses on all aspects of estate and trust administration. As a paralegal working in the legal field for nearly 20 years, his experience includes:
probate and trust accounting;
estate and trust administration;
oil, gas and mineral interests;
real property;
nonprofit;
corporate; and
drafting of wills, trusts and ancillary documents.
She focuses her efforts on estate planning, planned giving and tax-exempt organizations. Elizabeth represents clients in matters related to family wealth transfers for large estates, sophisticated estate and gift tax saving techniques, charitable planned giving, and complex probate and trust administrations, including matters involving digital assets and cryptocurrencies. She also regularly represents tax-exempt organizations in formation, organizational and operational issues. Her practice also includes advising socially minded entrepreneurs and business owners on their options for dedicating their companies to philanthropic causes.
